Obviously the chaps from interpol have been spending a little too much time in the local pub.

Yes our police force is very good on certain things, that there is no doubt, however they have become inefficient due to the fact that their hands have been cut off due to beuraucracy and corruption.

what die burger failed to mention is that the SAPS is also considered to be one of the most corrupt police forces in the world.

interpol works hand in hand with the saps on a lot of drug cases, i wonder if they have maybe been sampling a bit too much giggle twig???

I think you should check the full text of what Noble said before believing the report in the Newspapers. Nowhere in the report did Noble say "South Africa has the best Police Force in the World" and this is just the usual feel good lies of the ANC. On their arrest record alone you can only come to the conclusion that they are completely inept and useless. Furthermore if you have been reading newsites over the years they are filled from time to time with complaints from the Public about the Police Force as well as comments about their bungling inefficiency.
Noble is hardly likely to travel to South Africa where the Head of Interpol is and make a statement that they are useless ( even though that is the truth) and has tried his hand at a diplomatic approach. If he were to be challenged on the reported statement in your Press he would backtrack furiously.Only the deluded South Africans would believe that nonsense and he does himself no favours by putting the credibility of Interpol on the line by that newspaper report.
Gunner - I am not stopping you believing it but a good dose of reality would do no harm.

They forgot to mention the spokes person they sent to Kaya Fm last night who bored me to death. He couldn't answer questions that were put to him about the Interpol service and the SAPS. He ended making the SAPS look like lazy old man with huge tummies.

I don't know about interpol's statement, I'm talking about what I see, SAPS are no where close to being the best police force in the world. Even guerillas do a better job than them.

Must be a misprint...this the latest from the SA Police:

THE policeman investigating the rape and robbery of a French tourist on Durban's beachfront in December is facing a disciplinary hearing for "doing absolutely nothing" with the case for two months.

Durban regional court Magistrate Sharon Marks expressed her "extreme displeasure" on Monday at the "incompetent manner" in which the police were handling the matter.

Mind boggling!

Selebi is currently filling the Interpol presidency and is being praised for his role in founding ANTI- CORRUPTION campaigns in other countries such as Poland. Has anyone else stopped to think about how a police commissioner that has been linked, on more than one occasion to criminal elements, could be privileged to so much praise from an international LAW ENFORCEMENT agency? As for the competence of our own so called police "force", my opinion shall continue to fester until it is no longer possible fo criminals to avoid arrest at a cost of
R 500-00!

Daar's n DROL in die drinkwater! LOL

It was stated to be a personal remark of Interpol's director-general.
Let's look at this:
best police force in the world......highest violent crime rate in the world ( by far).
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....something doesn't add up here.

Shame.

If they answer the phone and aren´t too busy watching pornos.

But seriously who in their right mind is going to chase after criminals, get shot at, arrest them, and only have to chase after and get shot at by the same guys the following week because the justice system failed or their docket went "missing" or the cell doors were "accidentally" left open etc. etc. etc.

That´s why the ANC´s strategy of throwing another 30 000 (or is it 15000 now as stated by Selebi) policemen at crime, when they don´t have an honest and efficient system to back it up, is like f..king for virginity.
