The difference between a King and president are many. 1) A King is the leader of a nation(s) which is ruled or governed in name of the king's Sovereignty. A president is the leader of a group, committee, private company, or state (country). 2) In order for a king to first be installed he must be in powered by force, election, inheritance, appointment by a higher power. A president can be elected or appointed by self or other depending on the presidency. In conclusion, almost every aspect is different between a king and president. Please note this only a short list of differences. I'd Also like to note that a king or Queen can step down and remove themselves for power such as Queen Elizabeth I who gave way to her daughter before she died.

A president is generally elected and usually has a set number of years to be in power. Some other countries have what are called "presidents" that would probably be more accurately described as dictators because they used force to come to power and there is no form of checks and balances such as congress to keep their power in check. A king is a form of government called a monarchy. The king/queen is not elected, but is generally from a bloodline (so son takes over when dad dies type of thing). Also they rule until they die or someone throws them out of power.

Not a whole lot--these days--except that a president is elected, and a king or queen comes from a long line of kings or queens. A president can't serve more than eight years, where a king or queen is normally in it for life.
