It really depends....I would like to think I'd help....I usually do...but I live in a big city, and sometimes when you do that, people think you're crazy, which is really sad.

I do remember a time when I was on the subway, and on one of the station platforms, this girl was sitting and balling your eyes out...this guy, who looked like he was a decent guy, sat down next to her, and asked if she was alright, and she leaned on his shoulder and sobbed some more...so maybe the big city isn't so bad....

I would honesty hesitate. I think about the fact that they are steady looking lost and confused, and would wonder about would it bruise their ego, or intimidate them...if I were to approach them.

Of course, alot of folks believe, or would say that they would like to believe that they would help. Its a whole different story when your in the actual setting.

Ive seen tv shows where they ran tests, social tests on bystanders. They would set up a false mugging, theft, or abuse of some kind....and sadly- the majority of people stayed out of it. They did not run to the aid of a woman being beat up by her man, they did not intervene when an elderly lady had her purse stolen....even tho' in most of the cases....the bystanders DRASTIcALLY outnumbered the abusers.

That is all too sad to comprehend.

Yes I for one would try to help and have done this. The reward /s are great. To see someone receive help is an heart warming act.

The reward is love, strength and courage to do so in today's troubled times.

That is a great question because I have seen folks who appear to be as you describe. I would like to think I would try to offer help. I would asses the situation quickly but carefully though before I approached anyone like that nowadays.

Or hurt? Like in the bible - where the good samaritan did stop and help? I would help, just as I'm trying to in this forum by giving biblical answers when asked. We are called to help others, to love others (2nd commandment).

Yes actually I would stop and help, indeed I am attempting to do that right now by trying to dissuade folks from being involved with the religious dogma's that have been destroying us and holding us back from our true potential for centuries.

Yes, if I feel the person is safe and momentarily lost (ie tourist who needs directions).

No, if I feel the person is possibly dangerous (ie homeless person with a wild, desperate look in his/her eyes).

Although he/she (the person) don't want to accept my help, but I will still help him/her, because human can never do something alone.
