All children are different....you should take your cues from them. My dr told me that at about the time you start introducing solids into their diet you will have to burp them less. With my oldest daughter....she had a bad problem with spitting up, so I had to feed her in shorter intervals and burp her in-between. If I recall correctly, she was about 4 mths old when I quit burping her after every meal.

It's not necessary to burp a baby at all, usually. Most non-western cultures think what we do to our babies is laughable. There's no evidence that burping a baby makes any difference whatsoever to colic or wind or anything else.

Until the baby is about 3 months old. Unless you put your baby to sleep on it's tummy, You need to make sure to burp the child so they won't be sick and choke.

My baby burped on her own about 3.5 - 4 mo old. She wont even let me burp her now.

I never burped my baby, I didn't find it necessary.

I heard that you should burp your baby until he/she reaches 6 months...

at 6 months my baby doesn't seem to need burbing after a bottle. I only burp him now when he won't settle after a feed.

easch baby is different so its hard to say, when they can hold botle and burp themselves. I f they cry witrh tummy ache after u can still burp them

Around the age of one.

It is amazing but this is one of the things that as a mom you will just figure out when the time is right. You will know.
