It really makes me upset when I see a band writing a song when there's already a classic with the same title lyrics. For example, Incubus has a song called Wish you Were Here...I'm pretty sure most people would agree that the Pink Floyd version is fantastic...why bother?? It would be silly to write a new song called Stairway to Heaven, right? Does anyone have more examples?

Not examples, but I was commenting on practically the same thing to my girlfriend today, when rap bands actually use parts of other songs, guitar licks, drum beats, background vocals, and make up a rap song over it... I think its wrong to do that to classic songs. What, can't today's artists write their own stuff or what...

Well...there are only so many titles that can be used in this world..eventually they will have to start being recycled. I'm sorry that you get so upset by this.
