When I click servers, they all come up fine and I'll click one with say; 45 latency. After I click, a window will come up with server info (like if the game was full but its not) and it'll show the latenct going from 45 to 1,000+. And I just cant join because of that.

I have cable internet, new computer, and everything is unblocked on my firewall and such. But, the problem has started I think when I got my Linksys wireless router...

SOMEONE please help, Valve wont contact me back...

ha whoever said CS is for noobs.
looks like CS:S beats BF2142 by a million players or something like that and the top played game on xfire.

anyways,
when you click on connect the window pops up, shows about 50 latency and suddenly goes up to 2000? and also no players are showing even when you click refresh.

I have that same problem on my laptop, but I don't on my desktop.
however, i use my neighbor's internet for my laptop.
so i'm guessing:

1) it's an installation problem
2) it's an internet problem

I think it's most likely an internet problem.
disable any firewalls that you might have on while playing the game
or exit any other programs that have access to the internet, such as Instant Messenger programs, iTunes, internet explorer, firefox, limewire, etc.

however, it has worked for me whenever i have repetitively clicked "connect" for about half a minute as fast as i can. No joke.
So therefore i think it has to be something related to the connection of the internet, like you can't join a game for a specific 45 second time period of a minute, every minute.

try calling your internte service provider and ask them about it.

other games have worked too, so if one doesn't work, move on and look for another server that is similar.

if you play on more than one computer or have given your Steam account to a friend, Steam might be confused about multiple IP address logons and prevent one from joining, thinking that the Steam account might have been stolen and only allowing game joining for one IP address.

anyways hope that helps,
it hasn't really bothered me at all that much,
i've always found a server just as good or even better.

good luck

Yo, ive seen many human beings along with your issue and because it truly is amazingly ordinary to fix. There may be many stuff taking position one is the guy that left the answer above, yet when that doesnt artwork make certain that on your Counter Strike source homes that vehicle-replace "save up as a lot as now" is on. also yet another reason this may be taking position is that the server you attempt to attach with may no longer be a Css server, this happens to me after I verify my friends servers and attempt to attach with them yet they finally end up playing a very differant activity. Im a professional gamer and also you want information or any more suitable help dont hesitate to characteristic me on steam. call is Racecam wish is works out for you =P
