each of 3 friends is engaged in a different occupation. by a strange coinidence their names, mr. carpenter, mr. mason, and mr. painter, are the same as their trades, but but not not necessarily respetively.
the following statements were made about the 3 men but it turned out that only one statement was true:

Mr. carpenter is not a painter.
Mr. mason is not a capenter.
Mr. carpenter is a carpenter.
Mr. mason is a painter.

who is what? why?

its difficult to know wht is false because all answers can be true nothing can be ruled out, i think somethings missing from the question or its out of my bounds
