Steps I can take to become a Music Teacher?

I would like to teach people how to play certain intruments drums, Guitar, and others. What kind of schools are best for this?

Learn how to spell 'instruments', and stop listing them in a bizzarre combination of capital letters.

As far as learning your skills (learning that instrument you do not presently know) - besides for the Conservatories (SF, Juilliard, etc.) and the State Colleges and Universities, there are various Academies of Music. Or you could go to a private teacher. I see many ads for that in craigslist, not just here where I live (San Jose California) but all over the U.S. The same sources may be used as resources for jobs. Do not think it beneath your dignity to consult a Junior College - many of the best Music classes and teachers I had taught at that level.

If you are going to teach at the College/University level, you may need a EdD, which might require some additional post-graduate work. I have heard that the University of Indiana is a great place, as is San Jose State University.

Sorry if you are not U.S.-based; I have no other experience than that. But I would say that in general the same guidelines would apply. Best of luck.

Many state universities have exxcellent music ed. majors.

our state schools are all good..MSU or U of M are excellant top schools..or you can go to a MCCC..in Monroe, Mi..but there are a lot of great schools...just ask your guidance counselor at your school..and go to career day..its good to go

i would go for private lessons, you can make some bank with that.
