There are 3 motives for having it. First is social beliefs - starting at some age you see a lot of people talking about it as a really open subject so you say to yourself I must have sex to be normal - then the relaxation, eliminating of stress, producing adrenaline - after you discovered the first time you see the benefits, you can even become dependent upon it - and last but not least is the most important one, when you really don't have to do sex that often is for having children (and that is why we have sexual drives at some age) the true purpose of sex and the final one. So the true importance of sex doesn't come from the frequency of it...just that last motive really, but is the pleasure of it that makes you do it. And sexual drives are more related to genes and choosing a partner than just having sex (of course you want to have sex with that partner but the important thing is with who).

yes, i feel frequency is a hot topic in the united states. personally, i hesitate to accept some people having sex multiple numbers of time each day. it's become a race to see who can score the greatest number of experiences before death.
i believe that my sex life in private and personal. no one needs to know how frequently my wife and i do the deed. also, i have no desire to discuss our sex life with anyone.

The frequency shouldn't matter, but the quality of when you do do it.

Quality over quantity.

It depends. if you're having sex, once, twice or 3 times a week, then stress on 'how often' is probably irrelivent. Whereas if you haven;t had sex in 3mo, 6mo, 1yr, 2yrs, or 3yrs or more then emphasis on 'how often' is probably more relavent.

Perhaps.

I tend to focus more on the quality than the quantity.
