One way you can tell if you are addicted to the game is by playing the game all day, everyday, and forgetting the important things such as getting out and walking or eating food (and/or going to the bathroom). I like to play Sims 2, too, but I have to get away from it otherwise I will be a Sims 2 addict.

First off- you're never too old to play games. You could be 70, and it's perfectly normal to play video games- it may be unusual in the respect that not many 70 year olds may do the same thing, but it's certainly not wrong.
That said, if you find that you spend more than 2 hours gaming, you might want to watch it. There's nothing wrong playing four hours a day on your own free time, but certainly not in a single stretch. Most companies will tell you it's best to take a break every hour for 15 minutes, and it's not a bad idea.
Addiction alone, on the other hand, can be easy to spot- you keep playing until a natural occurrence (i.e., the need to eat or use the bathroom) comes around, which is the only point where you'll take a break. Fortunately, video games are not nearly as hard an addiction to break as drug addictions, but remaining seated for extended periods of time CAN bring about a condition known as Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), which is a blood clot that forms in places like leg veins, and it can pose a potentially serious health problem- fortunately, the best way to keep this from happening is to get up and walk around a bit.

I am addicted, and I am 28. You know you're addicted when your neck and back hurts from playing so long, but you just can't turn the darn thing off!!!!
