False eyelashes are a pain to put on unless you're a pro. But in the end, they're usually well worth the effort. Glue is a very good idea as the oils on your skin will break the adhesive down too fast. Just make sure you don't apply too much. Since you'll be on stage, it probably won't be visible anyway, but just in case I'd suggest a thin line of eyeliner over the seam. But really, I love fake eyelashes. You get an effect that just isn't possible with mascara. And since you'll be on stage, you'll need your makeup to pop, and false lashes will definitely bring out your eyes. Oh, and if you're having trouble putting them on after reading the directions and stuff, you can buy an applicator that makes things a bit simpler. It's like a folded piece of plastic with curved edges. Hope this helps!

RE:
Do self-adhesive eyelashes actually work?
I bought myself a pair of self adhesive eyelashes from Target, and I'm wondering if they actually work. I bought the eyelashes so I can use it for a stage performance, and I don't want it to fall off all of a sudden. Should I buy some glue just in case? Should I try them on the day before?...

I don't have experience with 'self-adhesive' lashes per se, however I do use falsies regularly for my job (I'm a cocktail waitress). I would advise you to buy a cheap set of lashes at Wal-Mart or Target (you can get them for under $5 USD easily) and a glue to go with it. They'll stay put for hours.

I use the lashes for lots of things, I used them during my wedding and parties and sometimes I put them on just when I wanna look my best!
Make sure they look rather natural... none of the big, fake glittery ones!!
Buy glue!! otherwise they fall off quick! Also, after the glue is dry, add on A LITTLE mascara too, it combines your lashes with the fakies... and it looks a bit more natural.
If you decide to not use them... you can get a similar look with tons of mascara, but it looks clumpy unless you have the right kind of mascara. Just add about ten coats.

Buy some glue and an extra pair of lashes to try on before the big day. This way you'll have practice applying them on and then if they look great then you'll look great that whole day not to mention on stage day!

Yeah because your only gonna wear them for a couple of hours but my friend bought some fake eye lashes to go to dinner on valentines day with her bf and right in the middle of dinner it falls off in her soup while she was talking to him and he didn't even tell her til she was about to slurp it. It gets better because of this last Friday when they went to the movies she decides to get the ones you glue on that i guess holds for 24hr or something like that but she glue them on upside down and didn't realize til it was dry she still went to the movies and she says at least she made a lot of people smile including her bf.

You're probably better off just applying LOTS of mascara and eyeliner. It's quite possible that they will, in fact, fall off and that would just be embarrassing for you.
