Chelsea and Real Madrid spend millions but still don't win the Champions league..... They are now failing to win even the league titiles.

yes money can buy trophies but not prestige and self pride. trophies are not just valued in terms of money in soccer. even if the trophy was a mere coconut cup valued at $100, the teams would still spend millions to win. what i mean is that what is at stake is more than the monetary value of the trophies. there are priceless things money cannot buy.

can the club survive without money?? No, Football is not just a game , its a huge business too and without money any business will collapse. You have basically answered your question yourself by naming two different club. Look at Chelsea and Real Madrid , lots of money to spend , but one has been English champions for two year running and is running second this season, the other has not won anything for a long time. So its not just the money that makes you win , you may have the best players in the world , but if they don't function as a team then u get nothing, Chelsea have been successful not just of their money but there determination and team spirit and Real Madrid have been unsuccessful not just because of their money but because they lack discipline and team spirit.
And dont think the other team dont have money or dont spend it, Wayen Rooney , Rio ferdinand dont come cheap nor do Ronaldinho or Steven Gerrad , its just that spending by some club is highlited in a negative way.

They can like chelsea have proven domestically, but sometimes money is just not enough. the hunger for victory can sometimes overide that just like Man U and Seville are doing right now.
