I got a theory cd and did it on the PC, also the DVLA have an online test that you can do as many times as you like, there are a few online, it all helps also reading through and learning some of your highway code book helps.

Using the theory test Cd is a good idea as you can just keep drumming the questions and answers in until you get 100%
It helps build up your confidence which is a good thing in itself.
We didnt have the theory test when I was learning and I spent hours reading the highway code just on the offchance that the tester might ask me 3 or 4.

I found just reading the "theory manual" to be the best revision.Have another quick read on the day of your test so everything is fresh in your mind.I think there are some online test example papers but not sure if you have to pay.

The theory is common sense - so NO revision is required. If you fail then your'e not fit to drive.

I suggest doing the questions papers as often as you can cuz the test tends to be repetitive.
