I'm bisexual, and once I make a commitment, I'm faithful to my partner. I'll admit when I was younger I was quicker to say things were over, but I was faithful for 15 years to my female partner...I don't care who your partner has sex with, if it's not you, it's cheating. You deserve a faithful partner if that is important to you, and it sounds like it is (it is to most people).

Depends on the relationship. In my humble opinion, if a person makes a commitment to another person in a monogamous relationship, then fooling around sexually with anyone else is wrong, regardless of their gender. You stated that your friend has been in love with this young lady. You said nothing about (1) how she feels about him, and (2) what they have agreed upon concerning the exclusivity of the relationship.
Do bisexuals use their sexuality as an excuse to cheat? I'm sure some do, just like many straight and gay people will make excuses to justify cheating on their partners. The phrase "I can't help it if....." knows no gender or lifestyle boundaries.
If your friend and this young lady have agreed to be exclusive with each other and she is carrying on sexually with other females, then she is playing games with words and with his emotions. In such a case, your friend needs to ask himself if he can live with her behavior and accept it. If not, then it's his responsibility to leave the relationship to protect himself and his integrity.... not her responsibility to change her behavior to suit him.

Some might use that argument, most wouldn't. Yes it is cheating, unless they have some form of open arrangement.

It depends on the couple. many men would love to have 2 women at once and many women would be curious to explore their sexuality with another woman

Logically it would seem if you have chosen a mate AND GIVEN A COMMITMENT OF MONOGAMY to someone of either sex, and go out on them, then you are cheating

People are people. Even people with different sexual preferences (same, opposite, both). Why do you think people will have different standards because of their sexual preferences?
Answer: Does anyone use their sexuality to fool around? Duh.
