I am doing a report.
I would like to get examples of discrimination.
I mean:
1 Specifically, what prompted the discrimination (besides you being black)?
2 What was the situation?
3 Where did it happen (city & state)?
4 When did it happen? I am doing a report about RECENT acts, so please do not respond about what happened in the 60s (not that it is not important--please don't misunderstand me--just that my report is about incidences of bigotry AFTER the year 2000.)
5 What did you DO about it? Did you call the police?
If so, what did THEY do about it? Were the parties involved properly prosecuted?
If not, why do you think they were not?
Also, sorry, this report DOES NOT INCLUDE acts of police brutality--again, not that it is not important, just not what this report is about (why? because I am writing about COMING into conflict, not incidents where there is already a conflict, such as an arrest).
6 Did media properly report on it?
Ok?
Thank you for your stories in advance:

I can give you 2 instances from last year.
1. I worked for a meter installer company in Central Florida area. This required us to go house to house knock on doors and change customers meters.I had full uniform ID and labels on my vehicle.
On 2 occasions I had the cops called on me when I was working in "up scale neighbourhoods, just doing my job. One officer said they had a report of a black male in the area climbing on peoples' roof. I said that's a lie and showed him my work ID tag and he left me alone. The other one a house alarm had went off and cops approched me saying I look suspicious. I did the same and went on my way.
2. Workin again in Central, Fl. As a cable guy, this old couple requested to have cable services turned on. I pulled up to their house, again uniformed, ID showing and they knew who I was. The guy decided to ignore me and got on his mower and cut the lawn. So I went to knock hoping maybe his wife knew what I was here for. She said "I not allowed to come in the front door and go to the back door." I refused, and again approched the guy and asked if he wanted to get cable tv today. He stopped what he was doing but still refused to turn off the mover( a big mower, very , very loud) said you come here boy, I was yelling saygin again I'm here to turn on your cable, he said I can't here you come closer(mower still running loudly) so it was impossible to communicate and I left. Later they called my boss and said I was rude to them. My boss went over there to find out what was going on. After a long conversation(me not being there, but i was told what happened) they ended up telling my boss they didnt what that black guy in their house and "he should have seen how we had that ni33er running".

What can I do, call who? there noone to deal with these things. They just happen and go un-noticed.WE or rather I keep quite just to avoid incidents , cause god knows if I call the cops I'd be the one heading to jail. You just don't know.

As for the comment about "United Caucasin fund" In case he dosen't know blacks were given NOTHING at the end of slavery. We were empty handed while caucasions were handed down wealth, land, money. We needed to start programs so kids can go to school and get a chance in life cause noone else was helping us.

Even so...I got a college degree and still don't make more than 11 bucks per hour yet I seem to be working harder than everyone else around me.

Man you just don't know or pretending not to know.

EDIT: By the way there is not only African American discrimination. There are African-americans who discriminate against caucasions too and againt there own. It's everywhere.

I live in Texas and just do not see discrimination anymore. My kids think that it is a really ignorant way to think.
