hi im planning to go to Corfu in september and i was thinking whether any of you who have been there or live there can give me some info. what to do there, where to go, shopping, prices, how to get around. im 17, from Malta, and i'll be going with a group of friends and i dont really like to spend my holidays at museums and ancient places. i'd also like to visit places where there isnt an infestation of turists, if you know what i mean. thanks :)

I stayed at the Pink Palace on Corfu. It was a great place. Hotel owners meet you off the boat and will drive to you their hotel (this was a great place for young people - like a fraternity house). There were motorbikes/scooters for hire nearby (and this is commonly found in Corfu - cost about 10-15 euros per day).

The beaches are great, Corfu town has shopping and even a cricket field. There are old temple ruins, restaurants and boats for rent if you want to sail.

Well, it's infested with backpackers, but the Pink Palace is still a lot of fun.
