I am 15 and havent really had too many jobs before except for helping out with little kids at a bday party. I need to get some substantial money... for lunch, cloths, airplane ticket, etc.
What are some good job ideas? Maybe other than baby sitting? (I can't really stand kids, but I LOVE animals!) What are some good jobs involving animals?

You could contact local animal shelters and vets. They need people to walk dogs and clean kennels and cages.
My 15 year old just got a job as a waitress at an Italian restaurant. She really likes it and she's making great tips.
Why the frown on your avatar?

I know in NY you have to be 16 to work at most jobs. You have to have a work permit and parental admission to work before that. I had a job delivering papers when I was 14 (not worth it-dont do that). You cant get a job at a fast food place until youre 16 because its an "on the clock" job. Otherwise, I have no ideas what kind of job you can get at that age unless youre working "off the clock" or for a specific person (as is the case with babysitting). Maybe you can pet sit or walk dogs?

It depends on what type of animals you would like to get involved with. I am currently working with horses in my horse stable because I am a member there. If you love dogs or cats, you could offer to walk them, feed them, wash them and even take care of them while their owner is away. There are so many other options, like how you could be able to go to restaurants and work out as either a dishwasher or a waitress. There are also some jobs that has to do with theatres where you can sell popcorn or such and if you feel like fashion is your thing, you could become the cashier or saleswoman in a fashion designer store! The list could go on and on...

Wheeling and dealing!

I do this for a living, and I'm only 15. The concept is simple: Buy things cheap at auctions or sales or whatever. Take it and resell it for a profit on Craigslist or eBay. It's brilliant and easy to do.

I've been doing it for 2 years now, and now I serve for clients. I actually just picked up a new project and I'm getting paid $9000 to do it. Don't tell me that's a lot of money!

There are so many benefits:
- Money. Lots of it.
- Little hours, so much time to hang out and be a kid.
- No one is the boss of you but yourself.
- No fixed schedule.
- Never have to leave the house except to ship items
- Looks great on college resumes. (Own and running your own business as a teenager really gets head turning. I actually have one school really trying to get me on a scholarship!)

It's a great job, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I worked at Sonic Drive In as a carhop. It's the best of the fat food jobs for teens. You get minimum wage because you're a fast food worker, and since you're a carhop you're like a waitress, so you get tips too! Most waitresses only get like $2/hr plus tips, rather than $5/hr plus tips, so it's good money. Plus you can roller skate and it's a really fun job.

Ask among your classmates and those in the grades above you for ideas, and your school counselor. Here are some suggestions: farm work (I picked apples); grocery store (I was a stock boy), mowing lawns, waiter, painting houses, golf caddy, house sitter, stable boy (cleans stalls, polishes saddles, exercises horses), greenhouse worker. Good Luck!

If the life of a chimney sweep doesn't excite you, you might look into the following: asbestos removal, cleaning the toner from printers with an air compressor (this can be done in your garage, even), scraping paint off wrought-iron railing (this was my first job, at age 7) and sanding down rust spots in preparation for repainting, power washing decks, or, depending upon its legality in your locality (rhymes!), prostitution.
