* Use fabreeze for cloth fabric couches, cushions, carpets and car seats. I sprayed Oust Air Sanitizer in the closet where the coats are hung and it got it out for the most part. Remember other than washing it water and soap does it really come out. But these sprays do help to neutralize the smell.

They make ionic air cleaners. Scrub stuff with ammonia and water. To neutralize the smoke smell, place saucers of white vinegar around the room and near affected furniture. Charcoal or baking powder has a similar effect. Leave it in the room overnight or for several days, preferably with the room closed off. Then thoroughly air out the room again.

Sprinkle the carpet with a mixture of 1 cup Borax and 2 cups cornmeal, wait an hour, and then vacuum.

Change your furnace filters, vac. cold air returns.

The best way is to quit smoking. But if that is not an option then... Febreeze works very well.
