* Six weeks' gestation. Real-time ultrasound should identify embryonic cardiac activity by the sixth week of gestation. Heart rates that are slower than 120 beats per minute or that speed up or slow down could signal trouble, he warned.

"The same pregnancy as shown on the other page - exactly 1 week after last image
Now at 6 weeks 4 days of gestation
Yolk sac is seen to the left of the fetal pole (fetus)
Fetus is between white cursors, and is 3 mm long
A fetal heartbeat was seen during this scan"

hope this helps

my husband and i went through in-vitro fertilization. the baby was just a small spot in the sack at 5 weeks on the ultrasound (no visable heartbeat). at 7 weeks the baby looked like a piece of seafood (a shrimp to be exact) BUT, his heart was beating so strong by that point AND we could see involuntary movement from his body too... his whole body would shake as if it was having a spasm every once in a while (very normal the doctor said).

sorry i can't say what you see at exactly 6 weeks...

In simple-yes. I needed an ultrasound at 6 weeks with all of my pregnancies and a heartbeat was detected then. Your doctor obviously isn't an obstetrician or a radiographer. Good luck!

My doctor told be the earliest she heard a heartbeat was 8 weeks 2 days. You can see it on the screen, but you won't hear it yet. It's amazing when you do, though!

that is thoroughly frequent for the toddler now to not have a heartbeat yet at 6 weeks. round 8 weeks you ought to have a heartbeat. the toddler isn't totally grown yet, it truly is all. reliable luck and do not agonize too a lot!

I am having my first scan which is done vaginally in my 7th week (next week). I have been told by my doctor that a hearteat should be visible on the screen at that stage.
