The human genome is SO complaicated that it's not like the simple punnet squares you learn in high school biology. You know, where B=brown and b=blue and if there's a B at all (BB or Bb), it's going to be brown but if there's bb it's going to be blue. That is the basic way it works, but it's way more complicated because there are so many different colors and shades a human eye can be. Blue IS recessive to green and brown, meaning your husband only has blue genes to give the baby if his eyes are blue, and if your mom's eyes are blue, she only had blue genes to give you. So you have a recessive blue eye gene in the background, meaning you have a good likelihood of having a blue-eyed bundle of joy. But there are also combination and blended eye colors to contend with. Anyway, here is a website with some more info.

Well your baby will most likely have blue eyes when she is born (most babies do) but Im pretty sure that brown/hazel is dominant over blue. My whole family has either brown or hazel eyes but my sisters were blue until she was 5. Now theyre hazel (green/blue). My husbands whole family has brown eyes. My daughter is 19 months and her eyes are still blue but theyre turning more gray and I assume theyll eventually turn either hazel or brown (I have hazel green/brown and my husband has brown) If you have a blue eyed gene (which I'm assuming you do since your mother is blue-eyed) I think you have a 25% chance of having your child have blue eyes.

I have brown eyes and so does all of my 5 siblings and parents. My husband also has blue eyes and his family as well. And both of my children have blue eyes. So I say your chances are pretty good.

Well my family all has brown eyes except my mom (she has blue eyes) and one of my sisters has blue eyes.
My husband has blue eyes and so does his mom, dad and brothers but our son has brown eyes like me.

Brown is dominant but you never know what color they will be. They could be green like yours.

0ver 99% of babies are born with blue eyes. There is no formula to work out what colour eyes your bub will have 6 weeks after birth. Keep in mind that blue is the dominant colour. Judging by the history of blue eyes in your family, I would think you could answer this question yourself! *lol*

Hmm well I think you need to map out your genes to calculate that, lol. I do know that blue eyes are recessive, and brown dominant. Here's an article which may help: http://vision.about.com/od/childrenvision/f/eyecolor.htm
