So, I was trying to skip my period so I took my birth control during my period last month. So anyway, I did that and my period came a few days late and lasted a little bit longer. Then I get spotting 1 1/2 -2 weeks later, at least I think that's what is is. What really is spotting, how long does is last?! I tried to AVOID my period and now I'm getting it and getting it early. I want it to go away. I'm getting period cramps and everything is this normal? I'm always on a new birth control but have only taken 2 pills yet. Please let me know about this whole spotting deal or if I have my period? Thanks!

I've never had spotting before and I shouldn't be experiencing period symptoms! I just counted, its been 12 days since my last period. Def. not prego! How long will this spotting last? I just wanted to skip it for a month for spring break than go back on normal schedule. Never done this before and the docs keep messing with my my birth control because they get diff. brands but claim they are the same thing.

well usually birth control irregulates your period i found that the depo shot eliminates your period all together i dunno if you are familiar with it but it is just a simple shot you get in your arm or your butt every 3 months and you dont have to worry about forgetting to take the pill or having your period. that is all. Good luck

You really should speak with your MD. If you have not been taking your pills as directed, you may have to take a month or up to 90 days off and use other birth control in the meantime. Then you will have to start over, and take exactly as directed. Some BCP can cause spotting after only 1 day (or less) if you forget to take it, and if you take them incorrectly you may well be unprotected.Yes, you are probably having your period--the lining builds up regardless and has to come out eventually--that is why you have the week off pills. I would suggest you switch to the 28 day regime after you speak with your GYN.

Stop playing around with your birth control pills, your system doesn't know what is going on. I don't know what your reason is trying to avoid having your period, just try accepting they are a normal part of being a female. Spotting is quite normal between periods

yep, you screwed yourself up, take the pills when you are told and never try to skip a period, if you wanted to not have them you should be on one of the meds that keeps you from having periods.
