My nephew is 8 months old and he breastfeeds 4-5 times a day. Along with eating stage 2 foods 3x's a day.
He has pears, carrots, greenbeans, peas, applesauce, avacados, just about everything. Tried him on cheerios, but he has an oat allergy we're finding.

I have two children.
When my daughter was 8/9 months old, she had three meals of solids a day -- I think she was on Gerber 2nd foods by then since she started at 6 months of age. She only breastfed twice a day, once before her nap and once before bedtime. She also weaned herself at 11 months (I was pregnant).
My son is now 14 months old. When he was 8/9 months old, he had just started solids and was only getting two meals of solids a day -- cereal and a fruit or veggie. He nursed at least four or five times a day still, and to this day he still nurses three or four times a day (before each nap and bedtime, and also on occassion when I think he's going to take a nap but instead he gets a "refeul" and goes on playing).

first answerer, the question asked what else do they HAVE, not do. lol!
to be honest i am not certain of breastfeeding at 9/8 months but every baby is different. some start feeding their baby solids at 3 months and others wait until 6-7 months (which i think is a bit long to wait but anyway!).
by 8-9 months, the baby should start to eat more normal foods such as potato and gravy, perhaps mixed up vegetables, fruits, the baby jars bought in stores and breastfeeding should be on awakening and before naps. main meals probably 3 times a day and breastfeeding around sleeps and sometimes anywhere in between if your baby is hungry!

My daughter is 9 months and she nurses when she wakes up in the morning, after every nap and before she goes to bed (appx 7 times a day). She has 4 teeth and is VERY interested in the food we eat and is already drinking out of cup, because she wants to be like us. I limit what she can eat, because she has shown signs of allergies. I give her non-acidic fruits (pears, apples, bananas), oatmeal cereal (iron fortified), and the puffed cereal finger food that melts in her mouth (which she LOVES because she can bite them with her teeth and feels like she's eating like us).
For the most part I've nursed her during the day and only fed her cereal mixed with a fruit puree and some water before bed at night. The last few days I've noticed that she is still hungry after nursing during the day, so I think her body needs more. I fed her 2 meals today and she ate everything!
You have to be careful what you feed them at this age. The lining of their stomach is still developing and you can actually cause them to have allergies throughout their lifetime if you give them something they're not ready for. I know strawberries and honey should be avoided. Honey can cause infant botulism.

My daughter is 9 months. This is her eating schedule:
Wake up- rice cereal and fruit
2 hrs. later- breastfeed
nap
lunch- step 3 veggie or a sm. sandwich
2hrs. later- breastfeed
nap
dinner- step 3 dinner or a step 2 meat mixed w/a step 3 veggie
2 hrs. later- breastfeed
asleep for the night
I've read that as long as your baby is still getting 24 oz. of breastmilk/day, it doesn't matter how many times/day of nursing it takes to do it.

hi All toddlers are distinctive yet its time-honored for slightly one to take much less bottles while they are getting sufficient to consume do no longer hassle approximately that in the event that they are ingesting a perfect nutrition plan then she would be able to be getting each and all of the goodness she needs from that. With bottle feeding is common for slightly one between 7 - twelve months to take 3 7oz bottles in 24 hours. in the journey that your worried she's no longer ingesting sufficient fluids try giving her toddler juice or cooled boiled water together along with her solids.x

My son is 8 months and it exclusively breastfed by his choice. He nurses on demand and he's demanding! LOL
If I had to guess it would be 12-14 times a day. He nurses a lot just for comfort. He doesn't take a paci.
