Well frnd the difference is that Bye and Goodbye is that



Goodbye can be stated as " the shortened form, goodby, sometimes used in American English and also is a traditional farewell phrase used in the English language. Most scholars agree that the phrase originally derives from "God be with you." It has also been suggested by some that it originated from "God buy [redeem] you".


and Bye refers to A farewell for a shorter time when compared to Goodbye.
Also it can be said something like it's a kind of farewell wish.

If you say somebody 'Bye' then it sounds that you are about to meet that person once again however if you have met a person once suppose you met somebody in a journey then you will say goodbye by the end of the meeting means that Goodbye is forever.

i think we say bye when we have a feeling to meet a person again and we say goodbye when we know and also have a feeling to never again meet that person.
