Because you ask questions about it like it is. I thought this section was about a real sport like amateur wrestling not fake "sports entertainment". Just wondering.

It's not a legitimate sport, the ending is predetermined, and the men and women in the ring call spots (tell each other what to do next), and they don't really try to hurt each other [Although some throw potato's (don't pull back on their punches as much as they should.) like Bob Holly].

But with that being said, it still takes A LOT of athleticism to do what they (well most) do. There are some that have little to no talent, but it takes a lot to put on a good match, just watch some of the greats like Flair/Steamboat... or even more recent Benoit/Angle from Royal Rumble '03. It takes strength, stamina, and endurance to do what they do... and I'm 100% sure you could never do it.

no, pro wrestling is not a sport and pro wrestling promoters have never claimed it to be a sport
pro wrestling is a combination of soap opera styled story lines and dangerous stunts
people here like wwe because its entertaining and most of them fall for the entertainment aspect of wwe not the wrestling because there is nothing as such wrestling in pro wrestling
people usually fall for the entertainment aspect that includes high jumps, very dangerous stunts, story lines and superstar entrances
as oppose to amateur wrestling which is totally boring
therefore the entertainment aspect draws people to talk about wwe here rather then the amateur wrestling
i hope this explains to u well

I really hate questions like this, it is really insulting to all wrestling fans out there, WRESTLING IS SCRIPTED yes, but the wrestlers put the bodies and lives on the line every day to entertain millions of ppl around the world, and they are very good at what they do....

No It's not real, it's all computer generated. Are you kidding me? Why are people still asking this question? THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES!!!!!!!!!! They risk their bodies and well being night after night for the entertainment of the fans. There is a storyline....you know why? BECAUSE IT IS A TELEVISION SHOW!!!!!!!!!! Doesn't change the fact that we have fun watching.

How many times do I have to tell people that it's real?!
If it was fake, Triple H would not injure and be gone for 6 months!

It's entertainment. Just like watching a movie every week. You know it's not real, but you still watch it because its entertaining.

I certainly don't think it's real. It's nothing but story line. And boring ones at that.
