The Golden Rule, you know "Treat others as you would have them treat you". I live by it the best I can, can't say I always get it in return though. Seems like people, adults and teens are more and more rude, jaded and just don't care. What a sad, sad world this may turn out to be.

My mother alway said "put a clean pair of undies on and a clean hankerchief in case you get hit by a car and have to go to hospital. I am not sure if that is logical or not!!!!

Never ever directly publicly oppose authority figures. Even if you are in the right.
They tend to not like it and dire consequences follow.
Now if you can show your opposition in a flattering way, they will be more ammenable. ;)
