Recently an event happened that caused me to yell at someone in public...not name calling, but raising my voice. Caused much shame, pain and embarassment. Never done anything like this in, nor has their been any indication of controlling behavior violence in my past, nor in my family. Yes, alcohol was involved. May lose the relationship, and I wouldn't blame the person. Am doing what I can to make amends; yet I myself am concerned about why this happened. I take full responsibility, and want to make sure that this type of behavior never repeats itself

If you don't want it to happen again it's easy, DON'T DRINK. There problem solved. That is the only way you can be totally sure it won't happen again.

I don't know what was said during this yelling episode--but controlling people want things their way or the highway type of feelings. The alcohol caused your "reflexes" to be off guard, instead of on guard, if you know what I mean. So, now you know that alcohol is something to not enjoy when around this person. It sounds like the two of you need to sit down (over a cup of coffee) and for you to apologize, and both of you to talk this whole thing over. Listen as well. Communication is so vitally important in any relationship. Take care..

NO, you have self control and it sounds like a lot of common sense. if you're questioning some concerns, that might be why you're questioning whether you are a controlling person, maybe you saw something in someone's behavior, that in the back of your mind, you may feel you will want to change. Which might be the reason for your actions recently.
