Even though they were playing there biggest rival in the biggest rivalry in all sports he still wasnt trying to beat the spread. I bet ya he didnt even know what the spread was. Also, he had frazor(a sub) waiting to go in for Hansbrough. Also tyler is a fighter and just wanted to finish a big game so roy williams was deff not trying to beat the spread(i dont think coaches care about the spread they just want to win)

No, Roy Williams wanted to run up the score on North Carolina's biggest rival in front of a home crowd.
And he had a sub for him with 14 seconds left in the game? So I'm suppose to feel sorry for Roy? Give me a break. North Carolina pretty much had that 14 point lead on Duke with 5 minutes left in the game. He could've easily taken him out with 1 to 2 minute left in the game and played his bench. They weren't going to blow a 14 lead they had held for that long in 2 minutes, not at home and not against this Duke team. Plus it was the last regular season game at home. If he was that worried about good ol' Psycho T he could've called a timeout and put in a fresh five.

So long as Duke is fouling and trying to win the game, Roy has to have somebody out there, but he did not have his starters (plural) out there, like everybody keeps saying.
Mike Copeland was at the scorer's table, waiting to replace Hansbrough after his free throws. The other players Roy had out there to "cover the 10-point spread" included Dewey Burke, a senior walkon who has played a total of about 5 minutes this year and Bobby Frasor, who has been out injured a great deal of the year.

Yeah--i thought when I saw it, "what the hell is Hansbrough doing in the game when it's well in hand?!?!?!?"
I lay the blame for his broken nose squarely on Williams for not having him on the bench when the game was well in hand. How would it be if Hansbrough got a broken leg at that point? Williams is a dumb++s.

a sub was waiting at the scorer's table to come in for Hansbrough once he had taken his foul shots
Roy just didn't want to lose the game in the last two minutes. With these two teams it is not out of the realm of possibility. Those three's mount up fast.

wow. do you even watch the replays? If you did, coach Roy had a sub waiting for Tyler as soon as he was finished with his foul shots! So if you thought he wanted to be a bad sport, think again. I think Bobby Frazor was waitin' to get in.
Where big UNC fans at my house.

all of Duke's starters were still in the game as well.
Coach K called a timeout with under a minute left, so obviously he didn't think it was over.
a 15 point loss justifies cheap shots? no class whatsoever.
good luck in the NIT.

i tell you what, if you had duke i feel sorry for you brother.
whenever you lose or even sometimes win against the spread it feels like it was rigged, you know how wrestling is fake, maybe the players talk to the refs or the refs tell the coaches what to do, who really knows?

Roy Williams is also the coach for UNC
and no I don't think he was worrying about the spread, was probably just trying to show up their inferior "rival"
