I have several file folders on my desktop. Rather than just a file folder, can I make them picture specific, and if so, how do I do it.

with you files on desktop, you can change the icon only, and replace with a different icon. right click on the icon you want to change and choose properties. click on customize, click change icon. some files it won't allow u to do it, but most will. with your seperate files in my documents etc. or in your music files you can change the icon from icon files as on desktop, also you can change the picture of your thumbnails to any picture you want out of your own picture files. same, right click, properties, customize, change picture

You need an icon editor.

Convert the pics to icons first.

Then you can easily use them.
