I truly believe that there would be less affairs (that normally end in divorce) if that person having the affair, had some kind of punshinment for their actions. Yes/No?????
My suggestion --- You leave with nothing. And I mean nothing, no seeing your child(ren), no arguring over the house, the money, nothing. Do you think that they would think twice before having an affair? If that was their consequence? I know I will offend someone, cause fathers/mothers need to see their children, but My main question is do you think that they would think twice?

I see your point but children NEED both parents, even if one is a low-down cheating dog. In some countries, like Bermuda, if you can prove your spouse had an affair the judge assigns the marital assets without any input from the "cheater". The spouse receives almost all the assets, the cheater, very little. However, this does NOT affect child visitation. Sounds like a good plan to me! And it definately does make Bermudians think twice before cheating (my sister lives there).

yes, think twice before getting married. You are right about upsetting some people you sound like you have no brain why would you punish the kids by not allowing them to see there parent what a dumb idea. How about educating people on relationships before they can get married. And what about other cultures that have a lot less divorce then this country maybe they have a better idea of how its done. But you see people here in this country have not learned that life isn't perfect and you can't have everything we want our freedom so no one can tell us who to marry or anything else so we pay a price for that. what should we do to people that don't fulfill there obligation as a spouse which leads people to affairs?

Sure. They'd think twice, three times, four times...and then they'd still do it. Because when an unfaithful person is in the moment, all sensibility goes out the window. There is no moral judgment or concern about consequences.

You're either faithful or you're not. If you're not, nothing will refrain you from jumping the fence.

I do think they would think before acting if there were real consequences. No more 'no fault' divorces. Either that or there would be a higher homicide rate as husbands would find ways to off their wives so that they would be free to think with their little head instead of the one on their shoulders.
