Who cares if it is illegal?

They are trampling your fair use rights, which SHOULD be just as illegal.

Download away with Ares. Google it.

I find that hard to believe, I do not think that's true. What I am sure of is that downloading from Limewire is basically everything illegal. - But again, the fact of having MP3 files years ago was illegal and today is a standard accepted everywhere. So what is illegal today, might be legal tomorrow. Same thing happened to DivX, to Napster, and to many other things that nowdays are fully legal, they were originally illegal anyway, with the time they were accepted by the market. Funny, Napster used to be free when it was "illegal", and now that it is legal, they rip you off and you have to pay. - MP3 files were "illegal", now it is everywhere in every consumer equipment. :) Anyway, I tend to believe that is not true, that your iPod would delete the files it consider illegal, but again, I don't own an iPod so I can't say for sure it does or it doesn't. However it makes sense that it might delete those files that consider illegal. - Myself I find that kinda like invasion of privacy, because why control what I can hear or not, when the equipment (your iPod) is mine, I paid for it..... but true.....the songs that are "illegal" you didn't pay for them. It's like the fact that you own a car and paid for it, doesn't gives you the right to go out there and run over someone and kill the person with your car. :p

Technically the act of using Limewire/Kazaa/Morpheus or any other P2P file sharing system IS PERFECTLY LEGAL. However, the act of sharing copyrighted music is what the authorities will prosecute for, as you are allowing other users to download something which they should pay for, for free.

The act of downloading music which is being shared by other users, is illegal, however the authorities will prosecute those who are sharing a "significant amount of music" - like drugs they will go after the DEALERS not the USERS.

Legal sites>>

Itunes > http://www.apple.com/itunes/
Napster > http://www.napster.com/

It is illegal. All file to file sharing is illegal. The only legal was is to buy it. Try itunes if you have an ipod, or the windows media player music downloader if you have anything else.

Wow, Microsoft needs to make a better and shorter name for that.

research a program that is safe, reliable, and you know is legal and pay for it. if you dont pay, that is called stealing, there is no legal way to obtain free music no matter what you are told otherwise.

i use my music inc, it works GREAT. only 20 bucks a year, works with ipods and other mp3 players, and it is seriously fast at downloading. get this- 300 songs in hours, try doing THAT with lime wire!!!!

Pretty much anyway you DL music and don't pay for it is illegal....but if you're not willing to pay for it and you're a college student go to Ruckus.com, they allow free dl for students of colleges that you can put on you MP3 players (except ipods because ipods are cranky and don't like to play that sortof game) you just can't burn CDs.
