Karma is like Global Warming - a religious device to get people to act in a specific way. If people believe that karma will come back to them, they will act carefully. That's why the notion of karma was created.
In my opinion, if you believe in karma, you're like an ancient Egyptian (no offense). Ancient Egyptians believed that if they transgressed in life, they would have no afterlife. The Greeks believed that those who transgressed in life would be punished in the underworld. The Christians believe similarly.
Karma is just a nice little device to frighten people into behaving if you ask me. There wasn't any "karma" two thousand years ago, if you know what I mean.

Karma is about getting your due in the next life. This time around there is instant karma but I don't think it happens often. And who's to say they are happy and truly get away with anything? There's an awful lot about people's lives you just can't know. Those who are terrible people in this life will be on the receiving end in the next life.

For sure. Its funny that usually those who dont believe in it, are the ones that dont live right and refuse to admit there time will come, and it will. Maybe not the next day, but Karma is patient, and plotting a day of reckoning, which is usually 5x worse!!

Yes karma exists.... keep doing wrong things it will eventually catch up with you.... nothing comes before the right time...so all those people who think they are getting away with everything.... well karma will sneak up behind one day when they least expect it.

I don't think of karma as a force more like a definition of given situations. For it to target people it would have to be something physical. But its definitely happened to me, I've lied about things that have come true and I have friends that have done things that have turned around an bitten them in the butt. So I think it happens but it doesn't happen "to" people if that makes any sense at all.

The karma is in the karmic winds that swirl through our lives. If they aren't caught right away, the universe may have a real fiasco planned for them. Get a wind chime to entice the winds.

Persephone,
I do wholeheartedly believe in karma.
It may not happen while you are watching...may not happen in quite some time. It's been my experience (directly, and through observation) that what "goes around" truly does "comes around."
Karma isn't just limited to the negative, as with your question...I've seen truly wonderful things happen for folks who genuinely try to help others.

No I don't think Karma really exists.
You think people are PROUD of doing bad things? No
People do bad things because they are FRUSTRATED with something...
So why punish people, they just gonna keep doing bad things....
Why not make people happy, instead of punishing them?

The Karma you speak of is surely on its' way. But I wouldn't be too preoccupied with others "getting theirs", just watch your own actions.
Karma is not biased, it comes after each and everyone of us, if and when we deserve it.
