It really depends on your preference. I use to be able to sleep in a bra but now after i had my son. I cant stand it. If your like me heavy chested I usually sleep in a form fitted camisole. It give a little extra support without the weigh down feeling of bra at night.

I took my GF's daughter shopping for her 11th birthday. The lady told us that at her age she should wear a bra to sleep in. I got a second opnion from my neighbor, whom is a nurse. She said yes that was true. She went on to say at least a bra, otherwise boxers or loose fitting pants.
Now I tell all the ladies.

it is more of a personal preference. there is a myth that when you sleep in bras, it can cause breast cancer because of the metal. but there have been NO studies that show that that is the case. so your safe for that. it is usually better to not sleep in a bra, because then you can let your chest breathe, and not be constrained. also, if it is the same bra that you wore that day, it can cause bacterial infections because the nipples are a very sensitive place and you usually sweat in your bra during the day. my preference is braless.

I would love to know what you find out about this... I was never told you should sleep with out it on.. so when I was young and first started wearing one.. I kept it on when I slept. I was talking with co-workers when I was 21 and the topic came up how it's the first thing they take off when they get home... and when I told them that I sleep with mine on.. they all looked at me like I had a third eye growing outta my forehead.

some women find it comfortable. me personally, unless im really tired, i cant sleep with one. its uncomfortable. there is this myth stating that you can get breast cancer if u sleep with your bra on, that is false. the most it can do is cut off circulation. lol. but if u feel uncomfortable then dont sleep with one. or try a different type of bra. like the unpaded cotton ones with adjustable straps.

why do you need to sleep in a bra? is it for extra support? if so, talk to a bra specialist at a department store (this is a free service) for more info.
i slept in one during the later part of my pregnancy and while breast feeeding the baby for the support. normally, i do not.

I think you should not wear your bra (or anything tight) while sleeping. It will prevent the blood to circulate properly.
