I read that OSU Buckeyes had locked up a number 1 seed for the NCAA's. I tought that was ludicrous considering the Big-10 tourney hasn't even started.

Sure--the conference tourney's purpose is to make even more money for the conference, not to illustrate who is really the best team in the conference....George Mason went to the Final 4 as a team not even in its Conference final last year....

And wouldn't you still give a #1 seed to Ohio State if they didn't win the Big 10 Tourney????

Then again, maybe you're right. If Wisconsin wins the Big 10 Tourney, they should get a #1 seed, even without winning the Big 10 title--especially (as any good basketball fan would say if they saw the game) after the hack job they got from OSU and the refs last weekend at Ohio State...omigod--how crappy was THAT officiating?!?!?!?!? What a HOMER job of reffing for OSU to win that game by 1 point!!

So you ask a great question! if everything plays out fairly over the year, then I would say that the tourney is frosting...the cake is what happens IN the conference for the year....but if it takes a neutral court and fair officials to determine a true Conference champ such as is obviously the need in the Big 10 this year........then, C'est la vie!!!!!!!!!!

It all depends on what's going on in the rankings around that team. In my opinion I think both OSU and Wisconsin are locks at this point for a #1 seed. It's between UCLA, Florida, and Kansas for the other two spots. OSU will get the overrall seed because their only losses were to Florida, North Carolina and Wisconsin. The unfortunate turn for Wisconsin is that Ohio State beat them in the 2nd game between the two schools only a few weeks ago.

But then again we all know that nothing is a "lock" until the committee on Selection Sunday says so. There's ALOT of games between now and then so I wouldn't hold my breath.

No, If this became the championship activity, then i could say sure yet enable the record coach contained in the perfect 3 weeks UConn has 3 losses. i do no longer have self belief they are deserving of a range one seed - If the massive east receives 2 it may obviously be Louisville, in the journey that they win the massive East journey and Pittsburgh because they have beaten UConn two times this year. yet both are very deserving of #2 Seeds.

Hell no

and I doubt it's going to happen unless 2 teams in one conference are so much better than everyone else they both deserve a #1 seed

i may be incorrect and it may have changed , but if not, they have wrapped up a number one seed because the big ten traditionally
has never held a post season tournament. see you at the dance though. thanks.
