I remember an interview Jon did and said that there were definitely no hard feelings between them, they were just heading in different directions, musically and otherwise.
After Alec left he opened a motorcycle shop.

He told a bunch of personal band stuff to an interviewer and Bon Jovi, as a band, are notorious for keeping their band life private. Kind of like a mafia.
I saw Jon Bon jovi discuss this on something, can't remember.
As far as I know they have nothing to do with him now.

He probably realised that Bon Jovi are now a weak 'n' watery version of themselves. Why hang around when something's gone so horribly crap? Heck, I didn't. They really suck chumps now and have done since New Jersey (the last fine Jovi record)
