When the brutish parliament ousted James11 of Britain and invited William111 to accept the kingdom in 1688.This was also known as the Bloodless Revolution.When William accepted the crown he agreed that parliament held all the reigns power,not the crown.This guaranteed that never again would a ruling monarch be a roman catholic.There were two jacobite rebellions to try to restore the Steward monarchy in 1715 and 1745.Both of which were defeated.
