I have a 90 Olds Cutlass Supreme that is overheating and blowing ice cold air. I notice when I gun it the temp will drop, otherwise it heats up very quickly and the antifreeze in my stock tank is boiling. What causes this ( stuck thermostat) ??? and where is the thermostat located on this vehicle? I dont notice any leaks anywhere.

OK is your cooling fan working? , you can check it by turning your A/C on with the ignition on they should kick on that is the way they are designed ,now if they do then crank the engine and check your temp gages . and your cooling reservoir , if normal then your problem is very , simple is just a bad cooling fan(relay) if the cooling fans did not kicked on then the cooling fan motor is bad , but also check it for bad connections and fuses. hope this helps. before you spend a lot of money on unnecessary parts.

Gunning the engine will probably only cool it down very temporarily and the engine will then heat up even more.
A laser thermometer can help to read actual system temps and can even monitor circulation as the system warms up.. Sediments from corrosion and bad pH can build up and create flow or circulation problems. I use a pint of denatured alcohol mixed into the coolant to thin the coolant a bit (helps it squeeze through the radiators thin tubes and can limit possible foaming) and flush the system. It can be a mess, but I blow the entire cooling system out afterwards with 70 PSI air pressure backwards through the engine out the radiator top hose connection while the mixture is still hot. I always drill a 1/8" hole in thermostats to allow air to bleed out during filling.

the thermostat us located just under where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine,
But juding by what your car is doing I would say its your water pump, if it isn't working it wont flow the coolant throught the cooling system to cool the engine, and it wont flow the hot coolant through the heater core to warm up the heater
