Indira Gandhi International Airport, located in the city of New Delhi, India, is one of India's main domestic and international gateways.

In 1984, Indian leader Indira Gandhi, the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru (a former Indian Prime Minister), was murdered after arriving at this airport, and since then, the airport has been named after her.

November 12, 1996 was a date the airport will sadly never forget, because a Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 747 that was climbing out collided against a Kasakhstan Airlines[?] plane chartered by a fashion company that was coming in, causing the deaths of all the passengers on both planes.

The airport isn't a hub to any international or domestic airline, but it sees many domestic and international operations daily
