It was my father, and we had a bad relationship. He was a alcoholic and I could no longer tolerate him. So I had not spoke to him in 20 yrs. But I had kept in touch with his nurse when he became ill. On the day he was doing real bad, the nurse phoned and explained my dad did not have much longer, he was unable to speak, but she explained he was very alert and would understand me, and would I talk to him. I did and I finally said dad I forgive you and I love you, he died very soon after that. It healed my soul, and I know it meant alot to him. I will never hold on to anger or bitterness like that ever again, it really hurt me more than him, for many many years. Thanks for a great question.

My mom was in the hospital 3 years ago, dying from congestive heart failure. I told her thank you for being such a good mom and I love you so much. I also told her I would see her one day again at home with the Lord, should I be blessed enough to make it there.
It was a peaceful passing for her. I do miss her, but when I think of her, it's always pleasant thoughts.

"Don't go nowhere, I'll be right back. I love you big guy"

Step father had hours to live this past November, Cancer got to him big time... my brother was on Emergency Leave from Afghan, had to pick him up in Nashville, 2 and half hour drive. He ended up dying 30 min after I left, and I didn't find out till me and my brother got home at 3:30am when I left at 7:45pm that night...I knew he heard me! And he waited till I left to die, and I live by that fact.

My grandmother and I hadnt really seen eye to eye, even though we lived nearby and saw a lot of each other. When she broke her leg, I visited her in hospital and we became friends, then, when she had a major stroke, I spent a couple of hours alone with her. We ( I, cos she couldnt speak) talked about everything, and I cried and told her I loved her. It means a lot to me that I got to tell her that.

"No, it's okay, I don't want a goldfish."

No, I'm not happy, because I kind of didn't feel like being bothered with this person because I was trying to get my friends. I feel horrible about my last moments spent with this person.

no such thing as an unfortunate surprise! no I did not know that my daughter would be killed. I did see her 8 hours before and told her I loved her and hoped she enjoyed her new coat we had just given her as an early Christmas gift. wish I would have said more like leave with me right now!
