I'm having a Beatles kind of day too... more Penny Lane though. To the question... yes, I have. Sometimes we have to say goodbye to the useless, self-defeating parts of us to welcome something that works. Goodbyes can be hard... but necessary.

Goodbyes are really painful for me so I avoid them. I had to goodbye my ex so I could go forward and say hello to a different life. Not a very easy thing to do.

In Hawaii, Aloha can mean both goodbye and hello, it depends what circumstance you are using the word in for it's meaning.
Other than that, no, I don't usually tell someone goodbye when I first see them unless it's someone I don't like :-)

I say high, you say low
You say why, and I say I don't know
You say goodbye and I say hello
Hello, hello
I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello
