I know this has been posted in many many ways, but everyone has unique circumstances, so I will post it with mine. I'll be brief:
1)Told that work is without value and no one cares
2)Frequently belittled by boss
3)No challenge to me
4)No creativity involved at all
5)I cry almost daily because I have to go in there...even on the weekends I cry dreading Monday.
6)I have painful heartburn from stress
7)Get a migrane almost every day I am in there
8)At one point (before a 2 month disability leave), was throwing up every morning before going in there.
9)Boss has no backbone
10) The people are treated so badly, I am afraid one of them will walk in with a bomb some day.

I am nearly debt free...I have a couple thousand left on my car, but then I won't have any "debt". Just my regular bills (rent, insurance, food, etc). I want to quit. I HATE working for companies. I want to start my own business. Is this foolish? What should I do?

First, find a job that you can live with. Not every "day job" is such a bummer! Make sure it is a job with decent hours, and that it pays enough to cover your basic expenses and lets you save a little bit. If it's in the field that you want to start your own business in, this is even better!

Next, quit the old job.

Finally, build up your savings so that you have a good emergency cushion (six to 12 months of expenses). Take night classes that will help you start your business. If your new job isn't in the field you want to start your new business in, you might look around and see if you can find one (apprenticing is a great thing -- also, you get a good look at the BUSINESS aspect of the business). Spend your free time and weekends making a business plan, building up your new business, etc. MUCH better than crying all weekend!

Even a job frying burgers sounds better than what you are going through right now. At least you can put the catsup on in heart shapes . . . . And it would give you time to work on your dreams, while still letting you have some income.

life is too short. find a job you will be happy with. you are at work more hours in a day than you are home. your unhappiness and stress will soon ruin that part of your day as well. don't let it happen.
report the weasel of a boss to the labor board. they can not belittle you. document everything he says. quit your job get unemployment if need be until you find another.

It sounds like you really dislike this job. Life is too short so regardless of your situation remove yourself from this one because your health and well being is going to suffer big time. You will be amazed at the good that can happen to you after you remove all that negativity from your life. Been there and done that one, never going back.

get another job lined up to tide you over till you can do what you really want, because seriously hon, you sound miserable there. so find yourself something that can compare to what youve got now to make sure you can still make money to support yourself, quit your job that you have now, then look into doing what you want, be it starting your own business or whatever.

There are many ways to be happy in life. If you are unhappy at your job for those reasons stated above, get out. You don't deserve that.

Do something before you die. If going into work is that bad, you are half way there. Try to get fired so they have to give you unemployment for a while.

If you can sustain yourself for a little while, I would suggest quitting.
