I have been collecting Disney movies since 1990 and have quite a collection. I have however been replacing the VHS movies with DVDs as they come out. I am thinking of seeling the VHS movies and I am sure they are worth something and most of them are in the Disney vault and can't be purchased. Any idea how to find the value of these movies and where to sell them?

If you have the original releases of "Little Mermaid", "Lion King" and "The Rescuers" you might have gold-it depends on condition of the movies and the boxes. Unfortunately, VHS is a declining market. Try the collector sites as mentioned above.

Also, make sure you know which VHS format the tapes are in. America uses the NTSC format while most other countries use PAL the difference is crucial if dealing with parties across national boundries.

Ebay. I sold all my videos from my childhood on ebay, and made up to $20 on certain videos..they must've been rare or something. Secondhand Barbie dolls with accessories seem to do well also. I'd suggest starting the movies off at Two Dollars (Australian), that's what I did to catch peoples attention, but if you won't take two dollars then start it at the lowest price you are willing to take, just remember it could sell at that price. Could also try selling as a set, say if u have a trilogy or movies of the same director or same age focus.

i have been doing the same, and i dont think they are worth much yet unless you have a special cover. like the original cover for little mermaid cover is worth more because they changed it a couple of yrs after its release. i wouldnt just sell it on ebay i would try to find a disney collectors website. i also collect mickey stuff, and they have wesites just for disney collectors.

if they are in good condition you can sell them at eBay, but if you want to get rid of them faster then that i would suggest placing an add in your local paper
