Reminds me of the first Gulf War, and how a friend of mine who was delivering munitions to the front line each day, in the sandy hell of "Over There", that friend like many did, went to see Bob Hope and Brooke Shields, but this is where its different, while many just see them and go back to duty, not him,he somehow was able to get his picture taken with her, and according to him,(I did see this picture by the way.) he was able to stick around for about an hour or so with the group, his face was that of someone moved by beauty, and shattered, ruined also at the same time, for at that moment, she was the first woman who had "touched" him in months, and also, what I noticed, by knowing him as a lifelong friend, also the most beautiful too...and his face said it as if he knew, through his joyful smile, this is it, the Bigleauges, no bigger, and maybe, the last woman I might see too, depending on how things go over here........ very moving picture, and this poem, very moving poem, I am sure means many things to many people, yet, that is what struck me as I read it.... Thanks for sharing it. May God Bless Our Troops.

It's hard to anaylze the poem, because it's full of cliched images. When you use overused ideas and images, you defeat the purpose of poetry, which is to push language further and beyond.
