Tamora Pierce - The Will of the Empress?

Question

I was just wondering if there were any books to read before I read the book "The Will of the Empress" by Tamora Pierce. I haven't read any of her books yet, and I know she wrote a lot. If so, what are they?

I love the Tamora Pierce books. The Will of the Empress is a stand alone book that actually follow two quartets of hers. You really should read "the Circle of Magic" series. It introduces you to her characters in the book. It starts of with "The Magic in the Weaving.(Sandry's Book)" It is the very first book. Followed then by "The Power in the Storm. (Tris's Book)", "The Fire in the Forging, (Daja's Book)" and "The Healing in the Vine, (Briar's Book)." They are the four main character os the book, and each one of those books, has something to do with their powers. Then their adventures continue in her next quartet "The Circle Opens" Series. Now that their powers have grown, awhole new adevnture starts for them. However they now have separate adventures. All but Sandry and her teacher Lark, go travelling, but they also have to help others, with strange Powers. This Series,start of with Sandry again.........It is called "Magic Steps", Then it of to see what has happened to Briar in "Street Magic", Daja in "Cold Fire". And Tris in "Shatterglass". Then Finally comes "The Will of the Empress." All four of them reunite again.

Her other books are set in a differnet world. commonly referred to as her Tortall books. These are my favourite books. Her first quartet is about Alanna. She wants to a knight. But they only accept boys and not girls She disguises herself as a boy. The first in this Series is called.........."Alanna:The First adventure", then "In the Hand Of the Goddess", "The Woman who rides like a Man" and finally "Lioness Rampant". Next about 10 or so years later, We meet Daine. Her Series Is called the immortals. It starts of with "Wild Magic", "Wolf speaker", "The Emperor Mage" and "Realms of the Gods". This brings back favourite character from Alanna's books. That then follow on with Kel's books. Set about 15-20 yars after Alanna. It starts of with "First Test", "Page", "Squire", and "Lady Knight". Then We go back to Alanna's Family. This time her Daughter Aly. There are only two books here. Titled "Tricksters Choice" and "Tricksters Queen". And her Current Series take us back 200 years before Alanna. There are only going to be three book in this series and The First is Called "Terrier".
