Adult skeletons show evidence of bone and cartilage fusion that adolescent skeletons don't. Also, while bones are still growing, they have particular zones of growth and elongation that you can see under a microscope.

Short adult has hard bones..

Wear and tear at joints are more in adult.

In a woman the pelvic bone might be larger than a teenaged girl. With a man the thoracic bone might be larger than a boys'. I dunno, I'm just guessing. I don't even know if there IS a thoracic bone.
