i just went to the bathroom and in the toilet was this slimy, clear and red tissue-like "thing" in the water...it looks like it could've been a clot like from a heavy period, but since im not bleeding heavy and a little "lighter" than light than thats what it came out to look like..any thought???

like i said, "period" came today, but since early afternoon has been really light and pink; hasent gotten darker or heavier yet.

If your period was due, it was your period.
Like the last person says, it may have been a miscarriage, but you will probably never know. But,as they say, something was wrong and it wasn't meant to be.
I am sorry if you were trying to get pregnant.
It could also have been cervical mucus, which you shed each month after ovulation. Some could have been stuck and came out with your period instead. Hence why it was red. It is sticky and clear and you can sometimes pull it like a rubber band kinda thing.

Hmmm. What you describe sounds like fertile cervical fluid.

Some women have a wet fertile-like cervical fluid just before their periods. So it could be that.

It could be that you haven't ovulated yet this cycle and are gearing up to ovulate very soon. Fertile cervical fluid right before ovulation can be tinged w/ blood. You can also have more obvious spotting around ovulations too.

I highly recommend charting your fertility signs. Your chart can tell you when you are fertile, when you are not, when you are ovulating, when to expect your next period, and when to suspect pregnancy. Your chart can also tell you if there are issues delaying conception or causing difficulty w/ carrying a pregnancy and if there are serious issues which need a doc's attention.

Some good sources for charting your fertility signs: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software), The Art of Natural Family Planning, and Garden of Fertility

This could have been a miscarriage - did you flush it away?

Go and visit your doctor.
