Even if I do find a good one, it never seems to keep me throughout the whole thing. I have probably ten half read books in my room. I love reading, but I have probably only finished two whole books out of like 50 in my house. Any suggestions?

I kind of have that problem....actually, more like *had*.

when reading, I just make "mind movies",
as some grade school teachers like to
tell their students to try....

Imagine it[what you read], really...
put your mind to be In the story...
does that make sense? :/

hope it helps :)

Instead of getting new books, read the end of one, then move on to the next unfinished book. It's ok to take a break in the middle of a book, just go back a few pages to refresh you memory about what is going on when you come back to it. I used to do that alot. Eventually, I stopped doing it for financial reasons. I was not able to buy all the books I wanted, so I had to finish them because it would be weeks before I could afford another one.

It's better for you to start with those 200-300 page ones in the beginning, especially those most interesting to you. Keep reading, once about 10 or 15 pages first, focus on what you're reading since it's one of the good habits you should learn how to practice and excel. Of course, no one can do great achievement within days or weeks, it takes years of practice and improvement of your own style till you find the tactics yourself how to read faster, literally speaking, how to devour each one by means of wise and persistent reading.

I have that same problem. So what am I doing about it? I'm writing my own book. Something I would actually want to read all the way through. Maybe you should try it. It is amazing what kind of drivel has been published. There needs to be better literature...
