Has your significant other gained weight since you've been with them?
I've been friends with my boyfriend for a long time before we started dating. He was kinda skinny then. We've been together for over a year now and he's gained weight since we started dating.
Everybody keeps mentioning the fact he's gained weight. It really bugs me that people would bring that up. Even though he may not show it, I know it hurts inside. Sure, a part of me misses him being the weight he used to be, but it's only weight. It's not like he's obese!! Plus, he's soft now. : } LOL! He says he's going to be skinny in the summer (not sure I believe it though). Haha.
Anyways, just wondering if anyone else noticed this in their significant other...
Why does that tend to happen too?

You're making him fat and happy, it's a good thing.

Yeah my boyfriend has gained a little bit of weight since we`ve been together (about ten pounds or so) in the last two years.
I also think it`s because he feels comfortable around me and I never judge him or criticize him so he`s not scared to let himself go a bit.
He`s also pushing thirty.
But I adore him regardless, whether he gains or loses weight, it really doesn`t bother me in the slightest!
Hope this helps!
Take it easy & keep loving your boyfriend!

The same thing happened with my boyfriend when we went off to college. He looses it during the summer because we're always outside and active. But there's nothing wrong with a boy being a little soft. It just makes them more comfy to cuddle with. :-). And its awesome that it doesn't bother you because it shouldn't. It's great that you can look past that.

It happens all the time. When people get comfortable and are happy they tend to gain weight.

My girlfriend has stayed pretty much the same weight and I would not mind it if she did, that is why we have been together for 8 years, we are only 17.

Yes, the same thing happend to both me and my BF (although he's a chef, so I guess it was bound to happen!). I think part of it is definitiely becoming comfortable in your sedentary life together. What's good is that we have both recognized it in each other and have discussed it in a civil, mature way. We have since both changed our eating habits together, and have started jogging together. Its' fun- you and your BF should try it!

My significant other is my dog, Sadie.
I just told my daughter today that Sadie is gaining weight.
But, after all it is winter and we are not out romping around or getting enough exercise.

No, my boyfriend is the same and I'm slimming. Maybe because your with some one, and your enjoying them so appearance doesn't really matter as long as you can't smell them( like stink) or they don't look grungy.
