Well, despite the fact that I despise MySpace, (Hooray Facebook!), it should be fine as long as said third grader makes his/her profile private so that the only people that can see it are those that he/she wants to. I would also recommend that the third grader's parents make one, so that they can be added to his/her friends list for monitoring who the third grader is becoming friends with, what people are saying to him/her, and what photos he/she is posting. This is a much less invasive and simpler way to make sure your child is safe on the internet than watching over their shoulder 24/7.

I think that is ridiculous and possibly dangerous. The child should be outside playing with their friends or doing their homework. They grow up to fast as it is!
