Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor and the United States feared an attack on the west coast. The U.S. put everyone of Japanese ancestry in camps because they didn't know if any of them were spies or terrorists. None were as far as I know.

a great style of what exceeded off to the eastern replaced into racist like all people is asserting. They have been actual pointed out and did no longer mingle with us yet stored to themselves. We merely did no longer have confidence them and felt they have been sneaky.on the west coast we intercepted pigeons with cameras linked to their abdomen flying up and down the coast shooting and found a severe powered radio transmitter hidden in a Buddhist church in Las Angeles in Little Tokyo. In my little city in Oklahoma we had a eastern Interment camp some miles down the line and an Italian POW camp in the different course. After a on a similar time as we observed the Italians on the city procuring and going to the flicks yet in no way observed a eastern individual. After the conflict while those camps have been closed some Italians settled in our city. We carry an Italian pageant as quickly as a year now. yet we sent the eastern on their way. I observed truly some signs and indicators warning the Japs to "save shifting! this could be a White guy's city!"

Racism. That was the only assumption or knowledge they needed. Notice that we didn't have German-American internment camps. The Japanese-Americans were easy to spot and easy to round up. They also assumed that they would be loyal to the Emperor til the death (like Japanese culture would suggest). However, these Japanese-Americans were just that. They were Americans. American citizens who's Constitutional rights were torn up into little shreds, lit on fire, then spit on (figuratively of course).

Neither before,during,or after
Japanese/Americans were imprisoned was there ever a single instance of espionage or sabotage by anyone of Japanese descent in the U.S. To further add to insult, the federal gov't confiscated not only these peoples' money and property, but allowed other Americans to assault, attack, and to kill them in some cases.Japanese/American soldiers were not permitted to fight in the Pacific theater, because of unfounded fear of espionage by them.
It should also be noted that Japanese/American soldiers who were permitted to serve in the European theater were,as a group
some of the most highly decorated for their bravery and sacrifices
in spite of how their families were being treated at home in the U.S.
