These are the reasons why I want to transfer. I want to transfer to a school that has a top 10 engineering program with strong academic competition. I want to transfer because sometimes I feel like im an outkast because i have little in common with the activities that my school run and the people that attend it. Also some people think im too nerdy especially girls and I plan to improve on it but I want to transfer to another college to start fresh to aim to be well-liked and popular

What if you go to that new school and the same thing happens? I think if the school is marginally better, and you have a chance at getting in, and a degree from that school would aid you in getting a better job, then do it. But if you're just doing it because you feel like an outcast, then that is a foolish reason. There are plenty of other places to find acceptance. Join some clubs at school that do stuff that you like, there should be plenty. Get a part time job at a place you frequent; bookstore, wherever, and meet people. Chances are, if you feel like an outcast, it probably has to do with you more than it has to do with others. Even in a place like high school where social status is so huge, a geek can still be cool and popular. Nerdy doesn't have to be a bad thing. Good luck.

I think no matter what anyone writes, you will make this decision on your own after careful thought. But, let me offer you one piece of advice: Get a transcript from your current University and send it to an advisor at your school of interest. They will be able to tell you what credits will or will not be transferred. I know someone who lost a lot of credits transfering out of state, I lost a few myself transfering in state. Just keep it in mind, good luck!

Hi :)

I just wonder your current school now doesn't have a top 10 engineering program?
I guess that is very common in every university... then if your current university doesn’t have it then it’s a great idea to transfer because you wan to follow your dreams... But not because you want to impress other people especially girls...

My experience was, when I started college back in first year, I also felt outcast because I’m very studious while my classmates are not they only copy assignments and answers to me... and I do not let them, they got angry and irritated, spread some bad untrue rumors bout me and let me feel so outcast then.

What I did was I joined organization and be with fine people who are like me studious and friendly in the university... because if you joined organization and clubs you will see that the members there have something in common on your experience and interest then stay on that organization, if you can’t find that in that organization then find another organization until you fit in.

Never let your circle of friends just stay in the circle of your own classmates or own department’s schoolmates,

Find friends on different departments and courses not like one you have now...you will see in other departments that they also have same problems as you and find same solutions what you will do together, share ideas and stuff.

and here I am, I’m now very popular in our university and well-liked, I proved to my classmates that I can stand without their help and even helped them with their own concerns, that made me very popular in our own department and well liked,

so in short do not carry the burden of hard feelings from what your classmates or girls has done to you, to those people you mistreated you. Just let them be, and you will see they are the ones who's going to eat their own words, so show it to them that you can do it (let them eat their own words),

Now, if you leave that university how will you prove someday to those persons that you are NOT what you are now?

And you can not be sure if ever you transfer, you will be well-liked and popular in that university... and take note of all the subjects and units... most of it will not be credit and it is very hard to start again from beginning.

And like what I have said from the start, if you want to transfer or do anything important decision make sure it is because YOU want to follow your dreams that Makes You happy, NOT just to impress other people let them feel happy of your decision.

Think about it and let me know if my answer helps :)

Take care,

Its not worth it transfer. When you transfer you will lose almost all if not all your credits. The college you are leaving is upset that they wont be getting your money anymore, and so they make sure your credits dont transfer. So all your work is gone, and you have to start over. Just try to make the best of your college experince. join clubs and things to make friends, and great memories.

It sounds like you have some good reasons to want to transfer. As far as the girls at your school, if they think you are "too nerdy" then it's their loss. You shouldn't change who you are for them. Find people who appreciate you.

When transferring to another school, some of your earned credits might not transfer with you. Unlike your confidence, it is not related to school, but to what you belief in yourself.
